Just got back from my shrink.Had a weird session.
Apparently because my mum came to me for comfort when my dad beat her or they argued, I lost my respect for women as she was supposed to be looking after me and not the other way around.
Therefore, my affairs and flirtation were out of a lack of respect for women and not a desire to be loved and cared for.

As a female, I had the same experience growing up and now I find that I have no real ability to connect with females at all. Beyond my family, my friends are male. Other than that, there is one female here on JS that I’ve always felt a connection to, but that’s definately the exception.

I must ask. Is your therapist male or female? I personally don’t think anything is that neat.

My therapist is female and I agree nothing is that neat.
The thing is I love and respect women, I connect with them really well. I have had some great friendships with women and the problem is that sometimes leads to more.
I was maried for 24 years.
Anyway, I feel that it is an interesting theory and maybe explains a few things, but not the fact that I have been friends wth many women and never made a move!!
